fuckyeahdailyproject: This 8-sided star is know as a “khatim” (also known as Khatim Sulayman, the Seal of Soloman or Khatim al-Anbeya’a, the Seal of the Prophets).  It’s a traditional tessellated pattern found in Islamic artwork, reflecting the 4 natural elements and their complimentary properties: AIR->hot<-FIRE->dry<-EARTH->cold<-WATER->wet(<-AIR)
